아리스토텔레스는 엔티멤을 설득의 몸통이라 부른다. 청중이 생략된 전제를 스스로 채워 넣으며 그럼으로써 스스로를 설득하는 것이다.

亚里士多德称省略三段论为说服的躯体：听众自行补上缺失的前提，从而完成对自己的说服。
